Stop rot before it spreads
Timber decay rarely starts with the wood alone. It usually begins when moisture gets into places it should not, then quietly weakens joists, floorboards, roof timbers and frames over time. We carry out wood preservation work across Yorkshire, starting with a proper look at what is causing the damage instead of just masking the symptoms.
That matters because rising damp, leaking pipes, damaged guttering and poor ventilation can all keep feeding the problem. CS Damp Proofing Ltd uses damp proofing and preservation experience to identify wet rot, dry rot and other timber deterioration before the damage becomes harder and more expensive to put right. You get a clear plan that focuses on protecting your property, not guesswork.

Advice to help prevent recurrence
A treatment plan based on the cause
Identifying the need for dry rot eradication early matters because dry rot can travel beyond the original damp area through masonry in search of more timber. Wet rot usually stays closer to the moisture source, but it can still leave timber soft, darkened and structurally weaker than it looks. Our survey checks the extent of the damage, the condition of nearby materials and the source of water ingress before any remedial work begins.
We then treat, repair or replace affected sections as needed, using specialist preservation products and fungicidal treatments where required. In Ripon and across the wider area, we advise on condensation control improvements that help reduce the chance of the same issue returning.
